The weather forecast says rain will end and clouds will start thinning out in the late afternoon...
So it's a "GO" for the RHDDO Perseids Stargazing Party on August 13th, from 9:00 to 11:00 pm EDT (if weather permits ;-).
Please bring your own folding chair/recliner, insect repellant, a red flashlight and maybe a sweater (it may finally cool down a bit tonight). Note that the grass may still be wet.
If you find the parking lot at the DDO full, DO NOT park along the roadway or on the grass... you WILL be ticketed (and maybe towed!). There is ADDITIONAL PARKING available at Elvis Stojko arena directly south of the Observatory. You will need to drive back to either Bayview or Yonge Street to get to the arena entrance off of 16th Avenue. There is a walkway that starts at the top (north) end of the arena parking lot (up the stone stairs) that leads straight north to the 74-inch telescope dome. It's about a 5 minute walk (through "Solar System Park", a nice place to also visit in the daytime ;-).
